Dr. Lisa Brooks, an assistant professor in hospitality management, received a 2015-2016 EIU Redden Grant for “Improving Instruction of Undergraduate Hospitality Management Students: Planning the State Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Conference.” Four undergraduate hospitality students with a career focus in event planning will be selected to assist Dr. Brooks with the planning and facilitation of the Illinois Association of Family and Consumer Sciences conference held in Springfield on March 11, 2016.

Dr. Moyer gives presentation at National Council on Family Relations
Dr. Lisa Moyer gave a presentation on her research regarding social media and grief at the 2015 National Council on Family Relations annual meeting in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Her presentation was entitled “#deceased: Maintaining post-death bonds on Facebook.” The research was conducted in partnership with Dr. Suzanne Enck, Associate Professor in Communication Studies at the University of North Texas.

Drs. Lisa Moyer and Jaimee Hartenstein in December Commencement Ceremony!
Dr. Lisa Moyer and Dr. Jaimee Hartenstein will both be participating in the EIU December, 2015 Commencement Ceremony. Dr. Moyer will serve as the Commencement Marshal and Dr. Hartenstein will carry the banner for the EIU Graduate School.
