Dr. Crystal Duncan-Lane was awarded the “Ruth E. Hawthorne Research Grant” for her work on breast cancer survivors. The name of her project is “In the shadow of the ribbon: Experiences of women with stage IV breast cancer.”
The Spring 2014 Journal of Family and Consumer Sciences features an article entitled, Experiential Learning in Higher Education: Implications for Improving Employability of FCS Graduates, by Dr. Lisa Brooks and Linda Simpson.
Dr. Lisa Brooks, RD, attended the 2014 Food and Nutrition Conference & Exposition in Atlanta, GA from October 18- October 22, 2014. She was among the co-authors for various poster sessions and a short-oral presentation presented by three graduate dietetics students: Jenna Carlson (short oral presentation and poster); Maggie Schuster (two poster sessions); and, Julia Mackenzie (one poster session). These graduate-level dietetics students are shining stars! Congratulations on this high achievement!
Dr. Jacquelyn Frank, Dr. Crystal Duncan-Lane, Dr. Katherine Shaw, and Dr. Axton Betz-Hamilton were awarded EIU Achievement and Contribution Awards for all of their hard work. Dr. Frank’s was in the area of service, Dr. Betz-Hamilton’s was in research, and Drs. Shaw and Duncan-Lane’s were in teaching. Congratulations!
