Lisa Brooks, PhD, an assistant professor, presented several sessions at the AAFCS 2016 conference in Bellevue, Washington. Sessions included “The AAFCS ‘Dining In’ on Family and Consumer Sciences Day Initiative: Exploring the Power of Family Meals”; “Success Stories on the Affiliate Level: Leadership Academy Alumni Making a Difference”; and, Putting Research into Practice, “The Power of the AAFCS Leadership Academy: Why You Should Apply.” In addition, Dr. Brooks served as the Illinois Affiliate representative for the AAFCS Leadership Council.

She is helping to develop modules that address teaching and leadership in the Tourism/Hospitality Industry. Betsy as also been selected as the the new secretary for the CenStates Federation I-CHRIE chapter for three years.
